Magic Street Fighter: Collected secret lair is doing world warriors’ justice
Last year, Wizards of the Coast announced a partnership with Capcom to release a set of Universes Beyond Magic: The Gathering Cards based on Street Fighter. Yesterday, the entire Secret Lair set was revealed, showing off eight new Magic cards that mechanically represent the original eight characters from Street Fighter II. Luckily, they all fit well into their fighting games and look like fun additions to any Commander deck they’ll fit in.
Each card looks lovingly crafted to mimic their fighting style as best as possible within the Magic rule set. Ryu, of course, is always practicing and unleashing devastating attacks, while Ken can add a bit of fire to his powerful attacks. Chun-Li’s use of the Multikicker is just a chef kiss design, and Dhalsim with his ability to reach and draw multiple cards will control Commander games just like he controls Street Fighter matches. My favorite is E. Honda, who encourages your deck to expand with creatures that can be upgraded to hundred theirs during attack. It’s all just super fun to play with all these new cards.
