TOP STORY: Rabiot, Man Utd close to a deal
Manchester United has reached a full agreement with Juventus for a transfer will see Adrien Rabiot join them for 17 million euros, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Reds director John Murtough has now had a meeting scheduled with the midfielder’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, to agree terms for France International.
Romano claims that the coming days will be key to negotiations should Rabiot move to Old Trafford now that United are meeting his camp, which is scheduled to take place on Friday.
Sources previously told ESPN that United were interested in Rabiot, as well as in Bologna in front of Marko Arnautovic.
But while talks over Arnautovic quickly dissipated, it appears the Reds are now closer to bringing in Rabiot.
This comes at a time when Erik ten Hag’s midfield picks – especially Scott McTominay and Fred – was heavily criticized after United’s 2-1 defeat before Brighton & Hove Albion when they opened the Premier League campaign.
If Rabiot joins, he will become United’s fourth signing after Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.
Rabiot made 45 appearances for Juventus in all competitions last season with six of those coming off the bench, scoring two assists.
