The Mexico City race has become one of the most popular on the calendar, with the final corners through a converted baseball stadium always packed with fans.
The rise of national hero Sergio Perez to the top of the Red Bull team has cemented their place on the schedule.
Mexico’s new deal will begin next year as part of F1’s record 24 races calendar.
Next year, Mexico will host its second race of three championships, taking place on October 29 between Austin’s US Grand Prix and the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez will host the Mexican Grand Prix this weekend, the seventh at the venue since it returned to the F1 schedule in 2015.
With F1’s popularity booming, reaching a new deal should ease concerns about Mexico dropping the calendar, although the need to host a race is likely to continue to grow between now and 2025.
F1 boss Stefano Domenicali has welcomed the new deal.
“I am delighted to announce that Formula 1 will continue to race in Mexico City for another three years under this new agreement,” he said. “Every year the race attracts huge numbers of passionate fans, and the atmosphere is incredible, and I know people will be excited by the news.”
