Mike Salinas wins NHRA Nationals Racing Equipment Summit to secure top spot in Top Fuel score

NORWALK, Ohio – Mike Salinas won the NHRA Nationals Racing Equipment Summit Sunday to take the lead in top Fuel score from Brittany Force.

Salinas won for the fourth time this season and seventh overall, beating Josh Hart in the final with a run time of 3.706 seconds at a record 333.58 mph.

“It was amazing,” Salinas said. “[Crew chief] Rob Flynn has brought calm to this team, and everyone has a say. I think it’s unprecedented and that’s amazing. We’ve earned the right to come out here and race against these guys, and we belong here. That’s a good thing because we have a great team and I’m learning how to drive. “

Robert Hight won in Funny Car, Erica Enders in Pro Stock and Angelle Sampey in Pro Stock Motorcycle in 10th place out of 22 events during the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.

Hight also leads in points and wins for the fourth time this season, topping Bob Tasca III with 3,944 at 327.51 in a Chevrolet Camaro.

The Enders have won their fourth of five races and fifth overall this season. She had 6,627 at 207.88 in a Camaro to beat Aaron Stanfield.

Sampey raced to his first win of the year and 46th overall, edging past Joey Gladstone with 6,861 at 197.13 in a Suzuki.
