Team Mitsubishi Ralliart revealed a Triton-based carlly for the 2022 Trans-Asia Racing (AXCR)marks the return of the Japanese sports car brand through technical support and expertise.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will support Team Ralliart, a private racing team owned by Thailand-based Tant Sports, and said it will “use the feedback gained through this rallying competition to cultivate leverage its strengths, especially in terms of body and chassis rigidity, vehicle handling and off-road performance.”
While the company has yet to detail what makes a Triton rally-ready for the “cheat”, we can see from the provided press images that the sports car is equipped with lift suspension, all-terrain tires and snorkel.
There are also extra recovery points in the rear, two spare tires in the tray, a Bride-branded race car trunk and a roll cage.
Apparently, this race car has an eye-catching paint job to showcase the colors of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart, with bright red accents contrasting with the gray and black throughout.
It’s unclear if the ‘Tricked-up Triton’ will receive any other engines or mechanical modifications. The standard production version runs a 133kW/430Nm 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
AXCR 2022 is scheduled for August 6-12, 2022 and is an FIA-certified cross-country rally event that primarily takes place in Thailand for “extreme mountain and jungle trails.” to test vehicles and crews to their limits.”
“Mitsubishi Motors’ participation in AXCR in the form of technical support will strengthen our product uniqueness, especially for ASEAN strategic vehicles including pickup trucks and SUVs,” Hiroshi Masuoka, Director of Mitsubishi Ralliart and two-time Dakar Rally champion said.
“For many years, Mitsubishi Motors has competed in the World Rally Championship and the Off-Road Bicycle Championship, winning championships in both of them and improving the driving performance of Mitsubishi cars that can sit still. for use in all weather or road conditions.

With that said, the local division of the company recently excluded Ralliart . branded appearance packs for Triton and Pajero Sport was revealed for the Thai market, where both vehicles are manufactured.
