Trainer Chad Brown brings NABOKOV (Uncle Mo) to Keeneland on Thursday to launch his career. Peppy Rafaela’s chestnut son (Bernardini) is a half-brother to GSW & MGSP Moponism who has made over $876k in his career. Bought by Peter Brant for $775,000 from the Keeneland 2020 Sale in September, Nabokov worked continuously to prepare for his debut, including all four on: 49 2/5 on 26 March (12/63) and four more recent ones hit the track at Keeneland on: 48 3/5 April 8 (21/85). He got his first start from Lasix and picked cyclist Irad Ortiz Jr.

Also his belated career debut was Winter till dawn (Empire Maker) for coach Shug McGaughey. The four-year-old Gelding, purchased for $450,000 from the September 2019 Keeneland Promotion, is no exception to a staked horse who produced three other winners at launch including GSW Rainha Da Bateria (Broken Oath). He also received a Lasix for his first ride and a Declan Cannon. PP of TJCIS
