The last solar eclipse of this year occurred last week. It is not seen from most parts of the world, including India. This eclipse is visible from Antarctica, while people in some other countries such as Australia and New Zealand can see a partial eclipse. NASA has shared images taken from a space observatory on Instagram, showing the Moon’s shadow as it passes over Antarctica.
NASA Post caption, “Have you ever looked at the total eclipse? How about viewing a total solar eclipse from space? The space agency announced that the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) spacecraft captured the black shadow as it passed over Antarctica.
Shaped like a cone extending through space, the circular cross-sectional shadow is most easily seen during a solar eclipse, the agency said.
The second and third images in the post show how eclipse will look “from a different angle” – inside the International Space Station (ISS). Astronaut Kayla Barron captured the eclipse images from the ISS. Visible in the foreground is a segment of the Russian orbital laboratory.
NASA also explains in its post how solar eclipses occur: “A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, casting a shadow over the Earth, completely or partially blocking the Sun’s light at a certain point. area number. The Deep Space Climate Observatory is a joint project of NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
