But when you see Pokémon Instructor, it’s really healing and it makes you want to try and be the best person you can be,” says Non. “I wish viewers would see Pokémon Instructor [and feel like] they can keep going.”

An important experience Non went through while recording Haru’s lines was being filmed while she was miming the struggles and frustrations Haru had to endure in the film to express her facial expression and style. Her manner can be used to animate Haru and give weight to her puppet performance.
“When I see the finished scenes, they are very different from what you see in 2D, 3D or CG animation. I was able to feel like ‘Oh, [stop motion] It’s also how you can enjoy Pokémon,” said Non. “When I see [Haru] In fact, I feel that it is completely believable and convincing.”

Although Psyduck serves as Haru’s companion in the anime, Non assures fans that they will also get to meet other Pokémon throughout the series.
