What is your favorite place in Delhi for an evening with friends? Our top pick would definitely be Khan Market. With an array of great eateries and a buzzing atmosphere, there’s no shortage of restaurants in this posh market in the heart of the capital. But if you were to ask us our latest recommendation to eat at Khan Market – it would have to be The Chatter House. Delhi’s first relaxed pub, The Chatter House was launched in 2013 as a tribute to European Pub culture. We visited their Khan market outlet and this is why we think it’s a definite must.
The Chatter House’s Khan Market Shop is a typical Irish themed pub. With tan leather and dark wood furniture, Irish music wall art adorns the walls around the table. The restaurant recently introduced a new syrup-free cocktail menu with a wide range of options. All liqueurs, syrups, liqueurs and essences are made in-house with natural ingredients. We tried theirs Cocomero cocktail – a tropical blend of vodka, white rum, orange liqueur, fresh watermelon and lime juice, and basil mixed with condensed coconut milk. We also sampled Soft sangria mocktail with diced fruits in cranberry-pineapple-lemon juice. Both of these drinks are very refreshing and ideal for the summer months. The fact that they don’t have the syrup used to make the drinks is the icing on the cake!

Coming to the food menu, there is a wide range of healthy, gluten-free, vegan options. Furthermore, dips, sauces, dressings, burgers and pastas are all made from scratch on site. They also have Indian style and pizza options to choose from, in addition to a wide range of delicious dishes. Helped by chef Ravindra Rawat, The Chatter House is known for using the freshest ingredients from vegetables to meats.
We started our meal with Arugula and goat cheese Salad which features lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes and honey reduced balsamic with arugula leaves and warm goat cheese. It’s the perfect and healthy way to whet our appetites before an evening of indulgence. The next item is Vegetarian lovers plate – with Beetroot and Feta Kebab, Cherry Tomato Bruschetta, Peri Peri Pie, Mac and Cheese Bite and Beer Onion Ring. The funniest of these are the last two!

Although we were quite full to take the main course, we gave it a try AOP Linguine pasta Made with olive oil, chili flakes, Padano cheese and served with garlic bread. The dish is light, simple and extremely satisfying although the bread could be a bit softer. Finally, we finished our meal with Old School Banana Split – banana mix, cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and crunchy nuts.
