New York Rangers’ Artemi Panarin fined $5,000 for throwing gloves at Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand
NEWYORK — New York Ranger front Artemi Panarin was fined $5,000 for throwing one of his gloves at Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand.
The NHL announced the penalty on Saturday. The fine is the maximum amount allowed under the union’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ union.
Panarin and Marchand were in front of their benches when the glove-throwing situation unfolded in the third round of New York. Win 5-2 in Boston on Friday.
Both players were given a misdemeanor penalty.
Panarin had one goal and one assist in the win over the Bruins. He has five goals and 16 assists in 20 games this season.
