Nia Long’s fiance Ime Udoka speaks out after being suspended from being a coach
Ime Udoka branched.
Professional basketball coach, who used to engaged to actress Nia Long as of 2015, suspended from his role as Head Coach of the Boston Celtics, the team announced on September 22.
Udoka has been suspended for the 2022-2023 season, effective immediately, due to a “violation of team policy,” the Celtics said in a statement. It added, “A decision on his future with the Celtics after this season will be made at a later date.”
After the news, Udoka gave a statement for the ESPN reporter Malika Andrews to deal with the situation and take responsibility.
“I want to apologize to our players, the fans, the entire Celtics organization and my family for letting them down,” he said. “I apologize for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision.”
His message concluded, “Out of respect for all involved, I will have no further comment.”
Before joining the Celtics last year, he coached the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs.
