If the idea that North Korea new nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile actually being able to reach the United States is not scary enough, Kim Jong Un seems to be troll his opponent in an 11-minute slow-motion video meant to show the moments leading up to the experiment.
The video, shot in a fun “apocalyptic” style, begins with the autocratic leader swaggering as if he were in Top Guns– complete with tight leather jacket and shade – came off the hanger with a phallic rocket head on a giant double cab trailer poking out behind him.
As Kim randomly pointed at unseen targets in front of him, the two made-up servicemen smiled and nodded at his obvious leadership. The scene was later cut to slo-mo drone footage of the Hwasong-17 missile still in its mount, tested on Thursday and North Korea claiming it could “contain the US.”

Video, published in three parts on Twitter, but available after a long time on YouTube, then cut into a flashing red button with a background sound usually associated with the countdown to a nuclear disaster, before a man counts down in Korean.
The rocket was launched predictably and a number of men in military uniform celebrated voraciously in slow motion. The video ends with Kim in the control room with his generals’ fists successfully pumping, all still in slow motion to ease the pain of it all.

While the US has not officially commented on North Korea’s latest show of force, US President Joe Biden is circling Europe with the US Air Force’s E-4B Night Watch command center known as the US Air Force. The “Doomsday Plane”, is intended to keep the President and his closure advisers safe in the event of a nuclear disaster.
