nOS is a new conversion app that turns a console into a mini tablet
The Nintendo Switch has significantly fewer customizable features and apps than Nintendo’s predecessors – themes are not customizable beyond two simple colors, users can’t rearrange their home screen. and it lacks the note-taking feature of the 3DS’s Game Notes app.
But today, independent developer and publisher RedDeerGames released nOS: New Operating Systeman app for the Switch that seems to bring in some of the little conveniences the console is missing, all in a tiny operating system.
The app contains all the bits and bobs that come with modern operating systems: calculators, gallery, notebooks, to-do lists, MS Paint-like drawing apps, puzzle games, and other Customizable settings. Like any modern operating system, users can have multiple windows open at once, giving them the ability to multitask, although it doesn’t currently have a browser or any other features.
According to the game’s press kit, it’s currently on sale for $1.99 through February 16, though it usually costs as much as $39.99.
Of course, nOS isn’t the only new game to be ported this year. There’s so much to do expect from Nintendo in 2023like a long wait The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and recently revealed Pikmin 4.
