New Delhi:

The central government is not in favor of working from home for its employees, the Supreme Court was told today in an affidavit ahead of a hearing on air pollution in Delhi and surrounding cities, on the grounds that it would “not have much benefit and effect”.

In its affidavit, the government said, “… In the recent past, a number of government functions have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic substantially for a prolonged period resulting in divided all over India.”

However, the center said it had “given advice to its employees about carpooling”.
