A female suicide bomber from a Pakistani separatist group killed four people, including three Chinese nationals, in an attack on a vehicle carrying staff from the University-affiliated Confucian Institute. Karachi.
“The Baloch Liberation Army claims responsibility for today’s sacrificial attack on the Chinese in Karachi,” group spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement posted in English on Telegram.
The first mission performed, he added, was as a female militia.
Karachi police confirmed four people died in the attack, including three Chinese nationals.
Chinese targets are regularly attacked by separatists in Balochostan province, where Beijing is involved in massive infrastructure projects as part of Belt and Road Intuition.
Separatists have long harbored grievances over lucrative mining and energy projects in the area, saying locals see no benefit.
