Has talked to @CPMumbaiPolice and DCP Crime Rashmi Karandikar ji. They will investigate this. Also talked to @DGPMaharashtra to intervene. Hopefully those behind such sexist and misogynistic websites will be caught. https://t.co/Ofo1l9dgIl

I have asked Hon many times. IT Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji to take stern action against rampant misconduct and community targeting of women through #sullideals as platforms. It is a pity that it continues to be ignored. https://t.co/Q3JLxZpNeC

Mumbai cyber police have started investigating objectionable content on the ‘Bulli Bai’ app, an official told PTI news agency.
The app appears to be a clone of Sulli Deals that caused quite a stir last year by offering users “Sulli” – a derogatory term used by winged social media trolls. for Muslim women – call them “deals of the day”.
While no actual purchases were involved, the app’s intent was to degrade, humiliate and harass, some of its goals said.
One social media user said: “The ‘Bulli Bai’ app works the same way ‘Sulli Deals’ did. When you open it, you randomly see the face of a Muslim woman displayed as Bulli Bai”.
Muslim women with a strong Twitter presence were excluded and their photos were once again listed on the platform.
The abuse drew strong condemnation on Twitter.
It’s sad that as a Muslim woman, you have to start your new year with a feeling of fear and disgust. Of course it goes without saying that I’m not the only one targeted in this new version of #sullideals. Screenshot sent by a friend this morning.
Happy New Year. pic.twitter.com/pHuzuRrNXR

There are a lot of Muslim names, including mine, on the hateful list #BulliDeals , like #SulliDeals
Even Najeeb’s mother was not spared. It is a reflection of India’s broken judicial system, a crumbling legal arrangement. Are we becoming the most unsafe country for women?– Sayema (@_sayema) January 1, 2022
Disgusting. The incompetence of the authorities has made these criminals shameless. @AshwiniVaishnaw@NCWIndia@DelhiPolice Please investigate and take strict action https://t.co/jTzs0XeVxx

It is unacceptable that this dangerous anti-Islam project is back. The indictment is appalling about the state of affairs, that not only did these forces do nothing last time, these forces feel encouraged to repeat the whole thing because the establishment favors them. https://t.co/0huEq05zp4

In rage and solidarity with @IsmatAraa, Samreen and other Muslim women are being “auctioned” vile online by the rapist-minded Sanghi trash. The police intentionally do not act on #sullideals encouraged terrorists to return as #bullibai. https://t.co/gLC4WIoiPV

The app was apparently taken down after it was posted on Microsoft-owned software sharing platform GitHub, which allows anyone to upload an app in development.
GitHub removed the Sulli Bai app following previous complaints, “We have suspended user accounts after investigating reports of such activity, all of which violate our policies.”
According to PTI, the first two Information Reports or FIRs were filed by the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Police in the ‘Sulli Deal’ controversy last year after photographs of Muslim women were abused but not take any substantial action against those responsible.
