Overwatch 2 Season 2: New Map, Battle Pass, Holiday Event and More Revealed
Season 2 of Overwatch 2 will begin next week on December 6, and the season update brings a new hero to the game along with new maps, battle cards, holiday cosmetics, etc.
This news comes from the new Overwatch 2 Season 2 trailer released today, which you can check out below, along with a new trailer. blog post from Blizzard. In the trailer, we get a look at the new tank hero joining the lineup, Ramattra, as well as the new Shambali escort map entering the game’s regular rotation along with returning favorites. Plus, we’ll see Queen Junker’s new Mythical skin available in the new battle card as well as take a look at some holiday outfits from upcoming holiday events.

Blizzard’s blog post reads: “With a new season, a new set of maps will appear. “Along with our newest map, Shambali Monastery, players can anticipate the return of Rialto, the fan-favorite and most epic place on earth, Blizzard World. We’ll be back. visits Oasis and Nepal at different times of the day and alternates out Hollywood and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Again, all non-rotating maps will continue to be available in custom games.”
Blizzard says the theme of Season 2 is Greek mythology, which explains why the Mythic skin in the battle pass is Zeus Junker Queen. This interface will include new customizations, weapon models, dialogue and special effects. The Legendary Poseidon Ramattra skin and Hades Pharah Legend skin can also be obtained in battle.
“These heroes and several others will be imbued with awesome, god-like powers in our new Battle for Olympus game mode,” Blizzard’s blog post reads. “This new limited-time event will begin on January 5 and run until January 19.”
Blizzard is also bringing back two holiday events: Winter Wonderland and Chinese New Year. Each event this season, including Battle for Olympus, will feature a skin as a reward that you can earn by playing and completing challenges, including Epic Ice Queen Brigitte, Legendary Winged Victory Mercy and the legendary Kkachi Echo skin. You can also earn Season 2 “gifts” by watching Overwatch 2 streamers on Twitch. There’s even a Legendary Ramattra skin to grab this season through watching Twitch, says Blizzard.
Season 2 also brings a few balance changes to Overwatch 2. Blizzard says it’s focusing on Sojourn’s Rail Gun’s damage at long range for Season 2 to encourage players to “take advantage of Sojourn’s high mobility. to bridge the gap more”. devastating right-clicks.” Doomfist is receiving “major changes that better support his frontline role while maintaining the core gameplay of his Hero identity.” Overall, Blizzard says you can expect tweaks to Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra when the Season 2 update goes live on December 6.
