Security measures before the Prime Minister election are in place
New Delhi:
Pakistani opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif, the 70-year-old brother of three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has been nominated as a joint candidate for the prime ministerial election, scheduled for today.
On the other hand, Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Party nominated Shah Mahmood Qureshi as their candidate.
A vote of no confidence against the Pakistani government of Tehreek-e-Insaf led by Imran Khan was held in the country’s Parliament on Saturday evening, where 174 members voted in favor of a resolution to oust Imran Khan. .

After a humiliating defeat in a successful vote of no confidence in himself, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday reiterated his claim of ‘foreign conspiracy’ and said that the “struggle for freedom begins with starting today”. Meanwhile, Mr Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party decided to resign from Parliament on Monday.
“Pakistan became an independent country in 1947; but the struggle for freedom begins today against foreign plots to change the regime. The people of the country always defend the sovereignty and the people. their owners,” Khan wrote on Twitter.
