A liter of petrol currently costs Rs 95.41 in Delhi; while the price of diesel stood at Rs 86.67.
Petrol and diesel prices today: Petrol and diesel prices were unchanged on Monday, December 13, 2021. Previously, the Delhi government reduced the value added tax (VAT) on gasoline from 30% to 19.40%. As a result, the price of gasoline in the national capital has dropped by Rs 8.56 per liter. A liter of petrol currently costs Rs 95.41 in Delhi; while the price of diesel – unchanged – stood at Rs 86.67.
In Mumbai, petrol retails for Rs 109.98 per liter, while diesel is sold for Rs 94.14 per liter. Among metro cities, fuel prices are still the highest in Mumbai. Rates vary from state to state due to VAT. (Also Read: How to check the latest gas and diesel rates in your city).
Here are gas and diesel prices in major cities:
State-run refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum will adjust fuel prices on a daily basis, taking into account international crude oil prices and the US dollar exchange rate. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices will be made from 6:00 a.m. daily.
Globally, oil prices extended their recovery, having broken a six-week losing streak with a gain of about 8% last week. Brent crude rose 82 cents to $75.97 a barrel, while US crude rose 89 cents to $72.56.
