Pico Cibelli named President of Warner Music Italy, as Marco Alboni steps down as Chairman and CEO after 9+ years
Pico Cibelli has been appointed the new President of Warner Music Italy.
He will replace Marco Alboni, who will step down as President and CEO of Warner Music Italy after more than 9 years and who previously led EMI Music Italy, acquired by Warner Music Corporation in 2013.
Cibelli will report to Simon RobsonPresident, International, Recorded Music, Warner Music Group.
He joined from Music Sony Italy, where he spent more than a decade working in A&R, developing the company’s top domestic artists.
Cibelli entered the music industry in 1996, working as Dance’s A&R and Television Marketing Product Manager at dance and house label Dig It International.
He left Dig It International to join independent distribution company Self Distribution, leveraging his skills in brand management, TV and radio advertising on his roster.
He joined Popular music Italy in 2000 and worked as A&R Director there for over 10 years, contracting and working with the likes of Club Dogo, Eiffel65, Fabri Fibra, Francesco Renga, Gabry Ponte, Gianna Nannini, Lorenzo Jovanotti, Marracash, and many more other.
In 2011, he moved to Sony Music Italy as Director of A&R before moving up to Director of A&R, and then became Director of Local Frontline Repertoire a short time later.
While at Sony Music, he discovered and developed artists including Ana Mena, Fedez, Geolier, Luce’, Måneskin, Marco Mengoni, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, Rocco Hunt, Salmo, Shiva, Takagi e Ketra, Tedua, Thasup, etc.
Warner Music Italy is home to artists including Achille Lauro, Annalisa, Capo Plaza, Fred De Palma, Ghali, Irama, Laura Pausini, Levante, Mr Rain and Rondodasosa.
