Air ticket database company, ForwardKeyreleased its annual report ranking the top countries based on how much tourism has increased since the tourism industry was impacted in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report shows that the majority of the top 20 countries are mainly in Central America and the Caribbean.
According to ForwardKeys, this statistic reflects the fact that many tourism-dependent countries in those regions have imposed less severe travel restrictions due to COVID-19 and have been able to maintain a steady flow of visitors. even during a pandemic.
From January 1 to October 18, 2022, the Dominican Republic received 5% more visitors compared to the same period in 2019. It is the most visited destination in the Caribbean, according to data from the Foundation. Travel the world.
