Happy 2022 guys.
During the course of 2021, one of the most important lessons I learned was that I could no longer light a candle at both ends. I realized that it is not healthy to be ahead of every idea, every opportunity, or every event. I’m in a place in my life where what I option spend more time on problems than is appropriate everything on my schedule. I realized that I had to say no to some things to get the results I was really looking for; that if everything is important then nothing is important.
At the beginning of previous years, I would set up a rigid checklist and sprint forward to try to get things done. everything on the list. It took a long time (and a lot of unmet goals) to realize that that kind of process was a one-way ticket to burnout. It’s a process that in fact never really works very well for my brain.

This January, our theme revolves around prioritization, a softer approach to the typical New Year’s goal setting chorus. This topic is about figuring out how to break down our priorities every day and every week, instead of trying to predict exactly what the coming year will hold. It’s about keeping in mind that our priorities will change over time and enabling that flexibility to exist.
To me, prioritization feels much less rigid and forced than the approach I’ve taken in previous years. It’s another way of shaping what’s available to me with the time I have. Prioritizing frequently, then consistently making decisions that align with those priorities, tends to add something you’re quite pleased with.
Personally, my number one priority in early 2022 is to stay focused on the important work of self-leadership that I started in 2021 — learning to manage my time, knowing how I react to the choices I make and adjust I Go. I want to create a flexible schedule that works with my energy levels, my family, and my business. And while life’s ups and downs aren’t always doable, I want to focus on not overwhelming my nervous system and getting back to normal at the end of each day.
As we move into 2022, I encourage you to consider what you want to be your own top priority at the start of the new year, whether they involve family, friends, hobbies, work, or relationships. your own unique match. I encourage you to keep those priorities in mind as January begins, while also Hold them lightly, allowing them to change and grow with you as you go.
