Ranking the best team dogs of the NHL
The 2021-22 NHL season is going well, and the chance to win the Stanley Cup leaves hockey players begging to see their rivals go up. While the action heats up in this cannibal tournament, it’s time for another kind of ranking: a countdown of the NHL team’s best dogs.
For those who might be scratching their heads (or ears): Several teams around the NHL have team dogs, many of whom are training under various organizations to become service dogs. These fledgling pups are seen around the team facilities, cuddling with the players, posing for photos with fans (hopefully not the foolish ones) and making cute pets. on social networks.
Disclaimer: All of these dogs are good and none are bad. The rankings are based on a complex and highly scientific system of factors, from cuteness to names to different puppy breeds and more.
On the leaderboard!
OK, this is not really dogs, but they have a virtual belly scratch here. Interesting facts: Harvey was the NHL’s first mascot, and was introduced by the team in 1983. Harvey is a cute name, and alludes to “hound” works, but it’s not a hockey-focused moniker. most demanded.
As for Bernie, he’s a mascot based on St. Bernard is cute with a surprisingly detailed storyline. What would put Bernie higher in the rankings is if he had a real dog opponent. We don’t think we’re planting the wrong tree with this proposal, Avs management.

Bark is a therapy dog associated with the Golden Knights. He is a Jack Russell terrier full of attitude. Bark’s name is definitely top notch: a legendary netminder game of Knights Marc-André Fleury (now with the Blackhawks). Of course, in terms of cuteness and fluff in general, Bark offers a lot to talk about, and we’re sure the Knights will wag their tails to get Bark between the pipes.

Puppies are the most beautiful, cheerful, and purest creatures on the planet, and Isles’ pups are almost painfully cute. Seriously, try looking at a picture or his video for a while and your heart starts to hurt. But it’s a good hurt, not the same hurt as the good-natured Isles fans have felt with the team’s disappointing start to the season.
With #Oilers Community Foundation as a sponsor, Flex is being raised by one of our employees with the goal of someday graduating to become a Certified Service Dog! 🧡💙 pic.twitter.com/woXm9bL4l7

In September, the Oilers added Flex to their roster and this 5-month-old Labrador is showing a lot of promise as the Oilers captain. Connor McDavid. Flex’s name may be more icy, but her good looks and work ethic have helped her move up the charts.

– Lord Banner of Smashville (@PredsNHLPup) August 26, 2021
Smash’s name conjures up “Smashville,” and in theory, predators should be fearsome and intimidating. Neither does Smash. He is enthusiastic, has a great smile and his tongue looks like it could empty a Stanley Cup-sized bowl of water. Smash is also near befriend a dog of the championship team. That’s what we’d like to see, behaving in a sport-friendly manner like a dog!
I have been informed that match day outfit pictures are supposed to appear on the internet pic.twitter.com/rEu5JrPd3v
– Bolt ️ (@boltspup) October 13, 2021
Bolt has a surprisingly clever name, and is one of the cutest-looking pups of the bunch. He is also the most recent Cup champion, so one could say that makes him the top dog.
Barclay has been with the Blues since 2018, including their Stanley Cup winners in 2019, when, according to the Blues website, Barclay was crowned “First Stanley Pup Champion“Barclay’s name comes from Blues legend Barclay Plager, it’s a moving tribute.

– @mnwildpup Celly (@mnwildpup) November 2, 2021
Celly has the strongest dog hockey team name, shortened to: “Celly” is a nickname to celebrate goals. And Celly is just as adorable as his name is: His ears stand straight up like a hockey stick, and his energy is unmatched. Also, at a Wild preseason game, Celly was caught stealing that opponent’s teammate Kirill Kaprizovsmooth movement.
you will look there they have one with my name on it!! pic.twitter.com/vUcmj7raQl
– Cookies (@CapsPup) November 5, 2021
Biscuit really has it all: good looks, a killer hockey name (“biscuit” is puck’s nickname) and a strong start when it comes to team antics. Biscuit has been through kisses, running on ice, iron pump, touring monuments, meet his previous captain and tweet up a storm. We think Biscuit has a bright future in this league and we can’t wait to see what he does next.
