Via Jack Tien Nam: Rashedi Ellis and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis had a heated discussion during their final press conference on Thursday ahead of their respective games this Saturday night on Showtime PPV at Capitol One Arena in Washington, DC

When the star of the lower division, undefeated Boots Ennis (29-0.27 KOs), was asked by Showtime if he was interested in taking on heavyweight rival Rashedi (24-0, 15 KOs) next, he He said, “Let’s go.”
From then on, Rashedi got a little angry and the two went back and forth. It’s likely we’ll see Boots face Ellis next if he can’t claim the title against IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.
If Spence drops his IBF belt, there’s a good chance that Boots vs. Ellis. Rashedi is fighting this Saturday night’s 147 lb IBF title elimination against Roiman Villa (25-1, 24 KOs).
For their part, Boots Ennis is facing off against Karen Chukhadzhian (20-1, 11 KOs) for the interim IBF title, where the winner if arguably secures a title this year against Spence.
Jaron ‘Shoes’ Ennis: “Let’s go,” Jaron Ennis said when asked by Showtime’s Brian Custer if he could watch his next game against Rashedi Ellis if he beat Karen Chukhadzhian on Saturday night.
Rashedi Ellis: “Everybody knows what I want.”
Boots Ennis: “We had this ready for this fight, and what happened?”
Rashedi: “It doesn’t pay.”
Boots Ennis: “I’m not allowed to say anything.”
Rashedi: “You can have it tonight. Don’t play with me like that.”
Boots Ennis: “You’re not like that. You are all bark. He all barked. You’re too moody. I already have him.”
He got me at a hot moment. I went crazy with Villa because of all the direct messages and other things,” Rashedi told fight TV centerwhen asked what happened between him and Jaron Ennis during today’s final press conference.
“I don’t know where you got the hat from. I’ve never run away from a boxer in my life,” Rashedi said when told Boots Ennis didn’t think he seriously wanted to fight him.
“Here’s what I do. I don’t care who it is. I just need to win and make a statement,” Rashedi said when asked how he might be in his next game against Boots Ennis. “I don’t look at things like that,” Rashedi said of why Jaron Ennis lined up ahead of him when he’s been playing professionally for longer.
“I have been inactive many times in my career. So I guess that’s part of it. I’m here now; I’m back now. I don’t know what happened,” Rashidi said when asked why he was so inactive. “Yes, yes, yes,” Rashedi said when informed that his promoters at Golden Boy were the reason for his inactivity.
“I don’t know about refusing to fight. I tried to fight Matthysse when he got mad. I tried against Sadam Ali. He was afraid. He even blocked me on Instagram and other things.
“I tried to fight everyone, so I don’t know where that comes from. I guess they don’t want it. That was when Matthysse was fighting Pacquiao so I don’t blame him. I don’t blame him for that.
“I think there was another time we could have fought. It’s a lot of different battles. The wars did not happen. I guess they want more money or something like that. I don’t know exactly what really happened.
“I don’t have to, as long as I win. I can not help it. I like to show off. It’s going to happen anyway,” Ellis said when asked if he felt he had to impress against Villa to get his next game against Boots Ennis.
“I don’t want to continue talking about him. [Boots Ennis]. He is a good fighter. I never said he was a slut,” Rashedi said.
