Resident Evil 4 Remake has new gameplay, appears to confirm the main new addition
Resident Evil 4 The remake gets a few extra seconds of gameplay in today’s Capcom Showcase, possibly confirming a key addition in the process: Leon Kennedy can move while aiming his gun.
In the trailer, Leon is briefly shown aiming his gun, seemingly continuing to move while he does so. If that’s the case, it would fundamentally change Resident Evil 4, which is known for making you stand your ground against the ganados. Indeed, Dead Space, inspired by the classic Capcom horror, is famous as “Resident Evil 4 with its ability to aim on the go.”
You can judge for yourself around the 1:48 mark of the video.
In addition to additional gameplay looks, Capcom also provided a quick story synopsis of the events leading up to Resident Evil 4. The stream reiterates that it is being updated with “modern flourishes” and ganado has been completely redesigned.
A Resident Evil 4 Remake developer explained: “We wanted to create a sense of loneliness and fear of not knowing what lies ahead, even more so in the original.”
Proposal for a Resident Evil 4 remake arrives as part of Capcom leaks at the end of 2020; A reported data breach has uncovered references to the RE4 remake among other future Capcom projects. Subsequent reports from the rumor mill showed that project must be “partially restarted” in Capcom due to internal disagreements over its direction.
After all that time, we finally have a sure announcement about the game this month, seems to remake the story into more closely associated with Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on March 24, 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. For more information, see our Capcom Showcase’s full recap today.
