While many Air purifier Available in India across various price ranges, the premium space is of course the most exciting when it comes to design, features and capabilities. Dyson has a leadership position in this segment and has just launched its newest line of air purifiers – the Dyson Air Purifier series. Pricing from Rs. 39,015 onwards, the series has two models in India, Dyson Purifier Cool and more expensive Dyson Filter Hot + Cool, priced at Rs. 50,310. What do these air purifiers have to offer and how good are they in practice? Find out in this review.
The Dyson Purifier Cool is the more affordable of the two in its class, offering air filtration and fan cooling
Design and Features Dyson Purifier Cool, Purifier Hot + Cool
Dyson’s new Water Purifier models are quite similar in design and function to Dyson Pure , launched in India in 2019. The units use the company’s bladeless fan system, with a hollow capsule top and a cylindrical base that houses most of the electrical components, the air filter and the screen. Figure.
Rs. 39,015 Dyson Purifier Cool looks a bit different at Rs. 50,310 Hot + Cool purifier; The capsule segment is slightly taller than before, making the Purifier Cool slightly taller overall at 1,050mm, compared to the Hot + Cool’s 764mm. The Cool variant is also a bit narrower and heavier than the Hot + Cool.
Both options are available on Dyson channels in India, including website and offline demo stores, major multi-brand retailers and e-commerce portals. Dyson sent me White/Silver units for both, but you can also buy them in Black/Nickel in India.
One key difference is that while the Purifier Cool has a standard 6A plug, the Purifier Hot + Cool has a larger 16A plug and will therefore need to be connected to a 16A outlet to work. Keep this in mind when purchasing the device, as you will have to place it next to the right outlet.
Apart from these differences, the two models look quite similar. Each unit has only a single button for power control and a hatch at the bottom to access and install the included air filters. Their 1.8m power cable is long enough to give you the flexibility to position them in your room.
The HEPA+ carbon filter will need to be replaced periodically, and you can view each unit’s remaining filter life through the Dyson Link app, if you’ve set it up. You can also use Dyson Purifier Cool and Purifier Hot + Cool without setting up the app and connect to Wi-Fi using the included remote control.

Each unit comes with a remote control, powered by a pre-installed button cell battery. The remotes differ slightly between the two, with the Purifier Hot + Cool’s remote adding a few buttons to control heating temperature and toggling between heating and cooling. The remote is magnetized and can be safely placed on top of the air purifier when not in use.
Just below the capsule-shaped fan unit on each purifier is a small color display, providing information about its operation. Fan speed is always displayed at the top, while the bottom of the screen shows various statistics and data. This includes air quality graphs; PM2.5, PM10, volatile organic compounds and Nitrogen Dioxide levels; ambient temperature and humidity; remaining life of the air filter; and whether the air purifier is connected to your Wi-Fi.
Dyson Filter Cools and Cools Hot + Cool Filters can be set to oscillate, and thus push air over a wider area. There are preset oscillating angle ranges: 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, 350 degrees. Of course, you can make each one static if you want. There is also the possibility of changing the direction of ventilation; both devices can exhaust air forward or from their side. Transition mode allows each device to work more efficiently as a fan.
Applications Dyson Purifier Cool, Purifier Hot + Cool
The useful line of Dyson filters with app support, with the Dyson Link app (available for iOS and Android) allows you to control devices and also view data on your smartphone no matter where you are, if they are connected to your home Wi-Fi. You can control multiple Dyson devices from the same app.
All the data you can see on the small screen of your air purifier is available as detailed data and graphs in the app, along with quick controls and a virtual remote that has it all. the same controls as the physical remote. You can also set schedules, edit settings, check filter life, and update your device’s firmware using the app.

Voice control can be set up using the app, and the Dyson Purifier series works with Google Assistant, Siri, and Amazon Alexa. I have my review units set up with Alexa and the Google Assistant and can use voice commands through Amazon Echo Show (3rd Gen) and Lenovo Essential Smart Watch. Helpfully, each filter appeared in the Google Home and Amazon Alexa apps as devices linked to my home.
Night mode on the Dyson range of Water Purifiers dims their screens, reduces fan speeds for quiet operation, and allows you to set a timer for how long they will run before going into standby mode, from one to eight o’clock.
Dyson Purifier Cool, Purifier Hot + Cool Performance
The effectiveness of an air purifier in operation is barely noticeable in its normal surroundings. Cleaner air will keep you healthy, and at best, you may find that you can breathe easier or not have an allergic reaction to particulate matter like dust or pollen. An air purifier sucks in the air with all of its suspended particulate matter, uses its filters to capture harmful elements, and then removes the filtered clean air.
I mainly use the Dyson Purifier Cool at home for reviews and have set up the Dyson Purifier Hot + Cool in a different location for occasional use. As the name suggests, the Hot + Cool variant can also preheat the air before pushing it out, which is great for cold climates where it can be used to heat your room to a temperature that is easy to bear.
The heating mechanism naturally requires more electricity, and therefore the Hot + Cool has a larger 16A plug and needs to be connected to a high-load outlet. You can heat your room to a higher temperature than the ambient temperature, but setting it to a lower temperature will not cool the room like an air conditioner does. You can turn off the heating and just use the fan, which will filter and push the air out at room temperature.
The Dyson Purifier Cool only has ‘cooling’ but this should not be confused with air conditioning either; The machine simply ejects filtered air at room temperature. Since it only acts as a fan to draw air in and through the air filter, the Dyson Cooler does not require as much power as the Heat and Cool Cooler and works with a smaller 6A outlet.
The Dyson Purifier Hot + Cool remote is slightly different from the Dyson Purifier Cool, in that there are buttons to control heating and temperature settings.
Purify the air quickly – according to Dyson Purifier Cool’s own measurements and statistics – with this unit it is possible to provide a closed room with previously ‘poor’ air quality (PM2.5 and PM10 levels around 70 micrograms per square meter) up to a ‘good’ level (under 30 micrograms per square meter) in just about 25-30 minutes.
It can be effective even with the windows slightly open on a low smog day, but high levels of outdoor air pollution will naturally slow down the purifier when the windows are open and may not be reasonable to use. Use it in such a situation. I did feel that the air I was breathing was fresher after the purifier had been running for a few hours and the fan made the air in the room a little more pleasant.
Volatile organic compounds – released during operations such as cooking, or through cosmetics, paints and adhesives – are sometimes noted on the Dyson Water Purifier readings, but the device has can bring those levels down to zero quickly. Nitrogen Dioxide levels didn’t register at all during my time with the device, but the Purifier line is designed to address and filter that out.
With fan speeds of four or less (out of 10), the Dyson Purifier Cooler and Heater + Cooler is very quiet. At five or six speeds, you can hear the gentle humming of the fan from a few feet away. At levels seven and up, the fan will make quite a bit of noise, like a desk fan, but these levels also help the unit cool or heat more efficiently.
Having the front vents work is more efficient for cooling, while the side vents help spread pure air around the room faster and also more efficiently if you want to heat up the room. use the Hot + Cool Filter. Oscillations also help spread air quickly, but you may prefer to have your unit pointed directly at you if you’re using either model as a fan.
Identify
The Dyson Water Purifier product line is by no means affordable; at Rs. 39,000 and up, these are premium air purifiers that cost significantly more than mainstream options from brands like Xiaomi, Philips, and Realme. However, the current demand for indoor air purifiers is due to the deterioration of air quality in urban areas, and the Dyson product line meets that need.
These two devices are quick, efficient, and relatively quiet. They are easy to operate via the included remote control and the Dyson Link app, and even simply by pressing the power button. At these prices, there isn’t much competition and there’s certainly nothing that looks and performs as well as the Dyson Coolers and Dyson Hot+Cool Purifiers. The more expensive Hot + Cool model also has the advantage of acting as an air heater, which will come in handy during cold weather in many parts of India. If you are looking for a high-end air purifier, then the Dyson Air Purifier lineup is well worth considering.
