Robeisy Ramirez defeats Abraham Nova
Via Adam Baskin: Two-time Olympic gold medalist Cuban superstar Robeisy Ramirez (10-1.6 KOs) stole the show Saturday night with a stunning one-punch knockout win over the highly ranked featherweight superman Abraham ‘Super’ Nova (21-1, 15 KOs) during the main rally at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Robeisy lured Nova by taunting him repeatedly for the first four rounds, then nailing him with a perfectly placed fruit to his head to knock him out in the fifth round.
Nova was seriously injured and could not get up, forcing the referee to stop the match on the spot. The official time of the match is at 2:20 of the 5th round.
Robeisy’s fighting style is completely different from the one he used to defeat Shakur Stevenson and win two Olympic gold medals. He’s sat down in front of his punches more than when he’s fighting amateurs and is more focused on fighting pro style.
“It’s all about strategy,” said Robeisy after the fight. “I am so lucky to work with Ismael Salas who is a genius in my corner. It’s really about setting up that scene.

“If you watch the fight, it’s about to work, touch the body until that opening is made,” continued Robeisy. “I knew he was dangerous so I had to be careful, but when I saw my loophole I grabbed it and I ended the fight.”
Robeisy throws a lot of his left hand, and doesn’t make much effort to hit Nova with his right hand.
