NORWALK, Ohio – Ron Capps took 1st place in the Fun Cars qualifier at the NHRA Nationals Racing Equipment Summit.
The defending series champion was on the verge of winning last week in Bristol, Tennessee, Capps ran 3,901 seconds at 328.38 mph on Friday in his Toyota GR Supra standing up on Saturday.
“It was a great job by our team,” Capps said at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. “Tomorrow we’re going to be cloudy and it’s going very fast, and you’re going to see a lot of great two-on-one races. To get to that No. 1 spot, it’s very difficult to get. It’s going to be an air battle. tomorrow and it’s very exciting, and we’re looking forward to it.”
Brittany Force came out on top in Top Fuel, Erica Enders in Pro Stock and Eddie Krawiec in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Force had a running record of 3,666 at 333.08 on Friday. Enders ran 6,537 at 210.11 in a Camaro on Friday, and Krawiec took the No. 1 in his 50th career on Saturday with 6,798 at 199.05 on Suzuki.
