Sciacca Gets 1000th Winner
Some 4 many years after saddling his first winner, coach Gary Sciacca celebrated the one thousandth victory of his profession, sending out Caumsett (The Factor) to win the Aqueduct fall meet opener Thursday afternoon. The 47-10 third favourite, Caumsett broke his maiden in a one-mile turf check beneath Corridor of Famer Javier Castellano (video).
Sciacca, a two-time main coach at Belmont Park (spring 1993 and fall 1997), has conditioned the likes of a number of Grade I winner Saratoga Dew–the primary New York-bred to be named an Eclipse champion–and millionaire GISW Subordination.
“I am simply actual completely happy to get it completed,” Sciacca, 61 and a Brooklyn native, mentioned. “I’d have cherished to have gotten it completed at Belmont, however I bought my begin right here at Aqueduct so that is nice. It feels nice. We would have liked to get it completed and get it over with. I assumed she was going to win final time [Sept. 19], however she bought nailed proper on the wire.
