Show of Navy skill in the sunset sky of Mumbai

The majestic outlines of the Gateway of India against a crimson sunset and a helicopter slowly ascending from behind the monument – this was one of many captivating moments from the rehearsal for the Beating Retreat in Mumbai today before the Navy Day celebration.
A video clip shared by the ANI news agency shows a drill by the Navy’s top maritime commando unit entrusted with special operations. The exercise demonstrated the rapid exploitation of marine commandos – also known as MARCOS – after a successful mission.

The clip shows the helicopter slowly ascending from behind the Gateway to India. As the plane climbed, one could see six commandos from Western Naval Command attached to three points on a rope suspended from the helicopter.
Soon, the skill show will take on a new color as the commandos fire flares, creating three horizontal lines in the sunset sky.

Navy Day is celebrated to recognize the achievements of the Indian Navy.
According to the website of the Indian Navy, the Royal Indian Navy during British rule celebrated Navy Day for the first time on October 21, 1944. The idea was to increase awareness of the Navy. in the people. Seeing the public reaction, it was decided that this day would be celebrated every year. Thereafter, Navy Day was celebrated on December 15 until 1972.
In 1972, it was decided to choose Navy Day on 4 December to mark India’s successful naval operations in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. 1-7. December is considered Navy week in which various events are held.
