Side project: Refreshing rustic farm – Hej Doll
I knew that grandma’s house needed a major update, so one of the bigger changes was the flooring.
She chose the floor in the shade Everhome’s Napa Oak. They generously donated the floor for this conversion and it was very easy to install. Their SPC Vinyl flooring is the perfect choice to have the look and feel of real hardwood without the upkeep and maintenance costs. It’s also waterproof and durable, perfect for her age. She is surprised to learn that her floors are under free maintenance.
The installation of the floor is very easy and only takes a few days. With a little help from my husband and brother, we carefully removed the trim, ripped off her carpet and cushions, then swept the floor of any debris like pins, dust, etc.
Once done, I took some measurements and started laying the floor. Flooring is easy to install and can be cut with a box cutter and metal ruler. For more complex areas I used a hand jigsaw but it was not necessary. I purchased a vinyl flooring kit to help install the walls and around floor vents.

Also of note, it helps if you can clear a fully furnished room before you start. A lot of time has been spent shuffling furniture from place to place, but it can be done.
