Signalis is a horror exercise in horror survival, and I love it
As I have discussed on this site many times, I don’t like horror gamesand so struggle to enjoy even the finest examples of the genre. There is absolutely no way in hell, so I should enjoy Signalis much like me.
Released last week on PC, Signalis is a sci-fi horror game where you play as an android, set on a mysterious alien planet.empty buildings, monstrous monsters, and blood.
Now I will work on that annoying indie game when I get the reduction and compare it with other games, not to remove everything interesting and unique Signalis going forbut just to help those who haven’t played it’s easy to get feel for it.
Imagine the original Resident Evil game, with set views, inventory management and light puzzle solving. Now throw in a number Isolation aliens or Shock’s . System The call to “rummage through a cursed sci-fi space”. Then present the whole thing with this totally dirty (and I mean this in the best possible way) PS1 aesthetic, with a big dose of Tsutomu Nihei in character design. That is Signalis.
It’s amazing, it’s brutal, it’s amazing if you don’t venture too far into utter horror, And I absolutely love everything about it. I love the animation, when your android walks cautiously through corridors or loads another clip into her gun smoothly. I like how the world design somehow embodies Japanese sci-fi with an East German flair. I love the way it’s written, it sees the story unfolding in the traditional “remaining scraps of paper from around the world”, just perfected to perfection. And me love and cherish Sound design, some of the most prominent features you’ll encounter this year, make playing with headphones an absolute must.
