Sony Music Publishing promotes Thomas Krottinger to Vice President, Creative
Sony Music Publishing (SMP) promoted Thomas Krottinger to Vice President, Creative Department.
Headquartered in the company’s Los Angeles office, Krottinger is responsible for overseeing the relationships of US/International musicians and promoting collaborations on the company’s global roster.
SMP said he will also continue to support innovative discovery and development initiatives.
During his time at the company, Krottinger has worked with musicians and producers such as BURNS, who have recently co-written and produced Rain on me by Lady Gaga; Plated, co-writer Before you leave by Lewis Capaldi; and Fran Hall, who recently co-wrote the viral hit Crossed Fingers by Lauren Spencer-Smith.
Krottinger also helped sign Salem Ilese, known for her recent hit Mad at Disneyas well as Elie Rizk, who co-wrote Build a B**ch ONLY and Inferno by Bella Poarch with Ilese.
Over the past two years, Krottinger has worked closely with global superstar Olivia Rodrigo, who signed with SMP in the summer of 2021.
Rodrigo, who achieved chart-topping success with her debut album SOURNominated for seven Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Krottinger first joined SMP in 2017 as Senior Director of A&R International and was later promoted to A&R Director.
Prior to joining Sony Music Publishing, he worked at Prescription Songs, where he co-signed with FRENSHIP and later became A&R Director. He started his career in the industry at CAA in the music department.
In other moves at Sony Music Publishing, the company newly hired Walter Jones as Executive Vice President, Head of A&R.
Jones, who joined SMP last month, is based in the SMP office in Los Angeles and reports to Sony Music Publishing President and CEO Jon Platt.Worldwide music business
