Tatiana Maslany Became a Marvel Scholar Before She-Hulk
Even superheroes have to do their homework.
In preparation for the role of She-Hulk (aka Jennifer Walters) in Disney + s She-Hulk: Lawyer, Tatiana Maslany knew that she had quite a few personal projects on her hands — especially given the show’s flair for references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and easter eggs.
“I definitely need to do my research,” Maslany exclusively tells E! News. “I read a lot of the original comics because that was the best way to talk about She-Hulk. But then I went back and watched the movies. I especially watched the ones that featured the She-Hulk. Tick [Ruffalo] in the surname and the original Hulks. “
Maslany gets some more homeschooling in the MCU from Ruffalo himself, who stars in the movie as Smart Hulk.
The Black Orphan alum was delighted that she did her due diligence, as she put it, “because there are so many references, you have to have a grasp of what’s coming.”
Not only that, She is heavy extremely self-aware and often relies on meta commentary by fools Marvel fandom—Sometimes making jokes about the show itself before online fans even get a chance.
