That’s right, Amazon’s downfall drama series is still going and now has a director

Listen, I won’t lie – when Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios and Amazon announced back in 2020 that a Fallout TV series was in the works., I immediately wrote down. Surely it would be another video game television project that would stumble through development until it was quietly canceled, only to have the world collectively ask years later, “Hey, what happened? what happened to that Fallout show?” That’s what video game movies and television developments have done for me. In this case, however, it seems I was wrong as production is underway and the show now has a director.

People familiar with HBO’s Westworld the series may also recognize him, as the same person who created and executive produced the series: Jonathan Nolan, brother of acclaimed director Christopher Nolan (The dark night, Start). First reported by Limit line, Nolan will direct the series’ premiere to be produced this year. Along with this news, the publication also revealed that Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Silicon Valley) were tapped to serve as the hosts.

Nolan will also executive produce this Fallout series, which doesn’t have an official title (though “Fallout” works fine – please don’t add some unnecessary subtitles, Amazon), alongside Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham’s Killer Film. Bethesda’s Todd Howard and James Altman will also serve as executive producers.

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” said Nolan and Joy Limit line back in 2020. “Each chapter of this crazy imaginative story has consumed us countless hours that we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re super excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the bright lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and dark comic universe to life with Amazon. Studios. ”

Back in August of last year, Joy said the series was “just a comedy, madness, humor, adventure and a soul like no other you’ve ever seen before”. Here’s hoping that’s still the case.
