The A&R Awards 2022: The finalists revealed!
With less than two months to go, we will have the UK music industry’s most exciting night: A&R Awardpresented by MBW in association with Abbey Road Studios.
Taking place on the evening of Tuesday, November 8, A&R 2022 will be held in Central London. The Platinum tables for the show were sold out, leaving only 5 Gold tables. (For your reservation, please contact [email protected].)
Today, we announce the finalists for this year’s event, which covers industry performance from October 2021 to September 2022.
Before we do, let’s remind ourselves of the A&R Awards categories… including an important new addition for this year.
The UK’s 2022-focused A&R Awards will once again see awards recognize those working in both the independent and mainstream sectors across record, publishing and management labels.
Categories again include Musician of the year and Producer of the Yearoutside Song of the Year, celebrates some of the greatest hits written by the majority of British (or UK-based) writers throughout the period.
In addition, our individual A&R awards – which also include A&R duos – are again divided by category: Adult Contemporary; Alternative / Rock; Contemporary black music; Electronics / Dance; and Pop / R & REDplus A&R . Administrator Awardwhich from this year will also be called ‘The Forbsie’.
There will also be team prizes, including two Publisher of the Year gongs (for UK pubs above and below certain size thresholds), plus Main label of the year, Independent label of the year and Management company (aka the David Enthoven Prize).
And there’s a new category for 2022: Manager of the Yearsupported by YouTube Shorts, recognizing the efforts and success of an individual talent manager (or duo) who has gone the extra mile for / their clients – and achieved success.
Most importantly, there are two special prizes: A&R . icon awards, plus Sir George Martin Award.
The winner will be determined through secret ballots by a select group of global music business professionals in the coming weeks.
