“The Center’s design to provide Procurement, Storage and Retail services for private equity is still in progress… No word from the Center to legalize MSP, we went back in. June 2020 smallholder farmers need Punjab government support to protect them from Company takeover – Punjab model is the only way,” he tweeted.
He had previously said that if the central government really wanted to fulfill its promise of doubling farmers’ incomes, it should meet the legal requirement to secure a remunerated MSP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, earlier on Friday, announced that the Center would repeal three agricultural laws and introduce the necessary bills during the winter session of parliament starting later this month. Farmers protested at the Delhi border against three agricultural laws.
