Self-described Ian James Corlett Porsche enthusiast, already owns a 911 chain. That’s why he chose the 912 as the basis of his project, considering that a simpler four-cylinder Porsche would be a less unusual subject. more education to convert from internal combustion engines to electric power.

The original inspiration for the electric 912 was a stubborn Vespa. Finally, Corlett teamed up with the experts at EV West, who reworked the transition and polished it to ensure reliability. Corlett calls this version his 2.0 build. Its front-mounted 25 kWh battery pack offers a little over 100 miles of range, making it ideal for a Sunday morning commute.

“It’s bulletproof,” Corlett said. “I just got in, and it’s ready to go.”

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Corlett moved to Los Angeles a few years ago to work as a voiceover — he appeared in the animated series of seven dragon pearls arrive what Joe?. His electric Porsche first made headlines at local shows but soon proved to be a passport into SoCal car culture.

“This car has opened a lot of doors for me,” he said.

Potential future plans for the 912 include air conditioning, an upgrade to DC fast charging, and a longer-range battery pack. For now, the 912 sits on a single charger, ready to launch immediately. It offers the look and charm of owning a classic car, built to be future-proof.
