No need to bet this time.
Based on Tyron Woodley, there is a rematch clause in his contract to fight Jake Paul on December 18.
Woodley (0-1) is entering two weeks’ notice for injured Tommy Fury to rematch Paul (4-0) at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. And if he scores the winning goal, that looks set to set up a triangle.
“Of course I like a trilogy. Yeah, that’s a rematch clause in there,” Woodley said TMZ. “I will wear it for him. After I take you down, Mr. Betting Man, are you going to run away or fight someone else or are you going to take this job again? “
Woodley took a split decision for Paul in August, in which he was able to knock out the YouTube star in round 4. But when the umpires gave the scorecard, Paul did enough to disqualify the former UFC weightlifter. Although Paul had more total hits, Woodley thought he was robbed.
“I felt like I won the fight, but when I go back there and beat him and win this match and win by knockout and get into a trio and do it again and there’s no doubt whatever, it’s true’, no doubt,” said Woodley.
“For me, there is no doubt about the first. I watched the fight last night. How do you lose (Round) 4, 5, 6, 7, 8? He hasn’t won a round after Round 4, and he clearly lost Round 4. So no knockdown, no 10-8, definitely a first.
“So this is the nail in the coffin, which is basically what I should have done the first time. The third time there will be no doubt.”
Woodley continued, “I bet I beat him. I bet if he gets up, I bet I’ll do it again. I bet if he gives up, I bet I’ll knock him back. So any bet he tries to make, I’ll say I bet I beat him. “
Woodley followed on a Pre-match bets by receiving Paul’s name is tattooed on his middle finger for losing to him. Bets were reset in the ring after their fight when Paul indicated he was open to a rematch with Woodley if he got the tattoo, but Paul chose to face Fury instead.
Woodley still got his wish in the end, and if he does beat Paul, it looks like no man will have to campaign for a third fight.
