Tyson Fury sends contract to Anthony Joshua for possible fight in September

TYSON FURY wants to fight Anthony Joshua in September at Wembley Stadium.

Britain’s top heavyweight boxer posted a post from his Instagram account revealing the following details.

“A few days ago, I sent a draft contract to @anthonyjoshua about a fight in September.

“@wembleystadium that’s the game everyone wants to see, including me. Come on AJ give the world what they want to see. This time I won’t do a million vids and keep putting pressure. The ball is on your side now.”

This news comes after months of struggling for Fury to find an opponent for his next fight. One for all marbles against Oleksandr Usyk who publicly collapsed earlier this year. Joe Joyce conqueror Zhang Zhilei was also deemed to have only been withdrawn due to the rematch clause Joyce intended to make.

Fury has spent time in Australia over the past week cheering on training partner Joseph Parker on his latest outing. During his time at Oz Fury was said to be in talks to fight unproven heavyweight Demsey McKean. Cruiser class champion Jai Opetaia was also included in the frame to take on the Brit giants.

Last year, negotiations between the two factions of Fury and Joshua were underway for a fight in November. However, again, to no avail after much publicity back and forth. In December, Fury returned to the ring in an uninspiring three-part win over veteran Dereck Chisora.

After two head-to-head defeats to Oleksdandr Usyk Joshua returned to action in April against Jermaine Franklin. The headline event at the O2 Arena, London ended with an unimpressive win for the British.

His promoter, Eddie Hearn, said boxing news yesterday that they are expected to make an official offer to Dillian Whyte for the pair to go head to head in August. Joshua is currently in Texas training with newcomer Derrick James

The heavyweight arena has seen more speculation than skateboarding in 2023. Fury, Joshua and Wilder have no rival and rival while the remaining member of the Usyk power quartet will face off against Daniel Dubois in the summer.

Fury v Joshua will be a blockbuster event and another good news for the sport which has seen an uptick in recent major fights.
