The Gepard vehicle, built by the German defense corporation Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, is no longer in the warehouses of the German armed forces, but the manufacturer has kept a number in its inventory.
According to KMW, the all-weather armored Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun has set standards since its introduction and has been continuously modernized in the areas of combat range, hit probability, reaction time. responsiveness, protection, reliability and ergonomics.
Gepard is designed to defend against modern fighters, attack helicopters, missiles and remote-controlled rockets. It can also reliably counter drones. Ballistic projectiles cannot be destroyed by electronic defenses, and the shrapnel clouds they create reliably destroy their targets.
KMW has mass-produced 570 systems of this type as the general contractor and is also the main contractor providing technical and logistical support for the system since it came into use. Gepards were supplied to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Romania.
