US Army receives ‘fake’ Russian military vehicles
The US military announced that its unit has received the modified Humvee and Striker to resemble Russian-made military vehicles.
The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, better known as the Blackhorse Regiment, received the replacement of the Russian army BTR-87 armored personnel carrier and Tigr multi-purpose armored vehicle.
“These vehicles allow the Regiment to replicate the capabilities of armored personnel carriers, highly mobile reconnaissance vehicles and self-propelled artillery,” the regiment said on Twitter.

The Russian-looking Humvees have been fitted with an image modification kit to resemble the Tigr and Strykers armored multi-purpose vehicles, which, in turn, have been modified to look like a newly upgraded variant of the BTR-87. equipped with remote control weapon station 32V01.
Kits serve as a cost-effective alternative to actual combat vehicles.
High-fidelity substitutes are needed to train Soldiers’ cognitive skills. New advances in technology require these surrogates to have the correct signature to aid in training.
