Veteran journalist Vinod Dua has passed away at the age of 67.

Veteran journalist Vinod Dua has passed away after a prolonged illness from a Covid infection, his daughter Mallika Dua confirmed in a social media post. Last week, the 67-year-old journalist was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of Apollo Hospital in Delhi on the advice of doctors. “Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away,” comic actor Mallika Dua said in her Instagram story, adding that the cremation will be held at Lodhi crematorium in the capital tomorrow afternoon.
Mr. Dua is a pioneer in Hindi journalism, with stints at Doordarshan and NDTV. More recently, he is known for his political commentary on web shows for the digital media platforms The Wire and HW News.
“Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He has lived an inimitable life, rising from refugee colony Delhi to the pinnacle of journalistic excellence in his career. more than 42 years, always speaking truth before power.He is now with our mother, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel. and carry each other up the wall,” wrote Mallika Dua in her Instagram story.
Vinod Dua was hospitalized in Gurugram with his wife’s radiologist Padmavati Dua after contracting a Covid-19 infection for a second wave earlier this year. Ms. Dua passed away in June and Mr. Dua has been struggling with his health condition ever since.
Mr Dua is survived by two daughters, comic actors Mallika Dua and Bakul Dua, a clinical psychologist.
