Video: Does Lennox Lewis have a glass jaw?
Via Geoffrey Ciani: Myth or Truth? Does Lennox Lewis have a glass jaw?
Lennox Lewis is considered by many to be one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, and not without good reason. Lennox is a 3-time heavyweight champion, and his track record is a stellar one, where he beat one of the top heavyweights over a long stretch from 1992 to 2003. Lennox also holds the title as the last undisputed world heavyweight champion, more than 20 years ago.
Lewis racked up notable stand-up wins over Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, and he also beat a host of other top heavyweights of his time including Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Briggs , Andrew Golota, Michael Grant, David Tua and Donovan Razor Ruddock just to name a few. Indeed, Lennox is one of the few boxers throughout the rich history of heavy boxing to retire after beating every man he’s ever faced as a professional.
The biggest criticism for Lewis was that he was stopped in the first matchup against Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman, where Lennox was knocked down with a single punch against opponents who had never been on his level. .
Myth or truth? Does Lennox Lewis have a glass jaw?
This version of Rummy’s Corner will attempt to answer that question, while looking at Lennox Lewis’ career in terms of his swing, with a strong focus on knockout losses to McCall and Rahman, his revenge wins in rematches with his two conquerors, how does his chin stand up to other big heavyweights of his time, and whether he really has a “glass jaw” or “glass chin” or not. Watch and enjoy the video for one man’s opinion. This is Rummy’s Corner (produced and narrated by Geoffrey Ciani).
