Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide Developer Fatshark on Tuesday posted an open letter written by CEO Martin Wahlund, in which the studio acknowledged the difficult launch for the first-person co-op shooter and promised to support the game. play.
“We are on our way […] to create an engaging and stable game with a level of depth that keeps you playing for weeks, not hours,” the statement read in part. It continued, “We did not meet those expectations. Over the next few months, our sole focus will be on addressing the feedback many of you have. Specifically, we will focus on delivering a complete crafting system, a more rewarding development loop, and continue to work on optimizing the game’s performance and stability.”
Fatshark will delay Black tide’s seasonal content and launch Xbox Series X, while pausing the release of premium cosmetics. “We can’t continue down this path, knowing we haven’t addressed many of the feedback issues in today’s game,” Wahlund wrote.
Black tide launched on November 30 for Windows PC and was praised for its intuitive and satisfying combat, top-notch sound and soundtrack, and richly detailed environments. The game was also criticized by fans for its random and confusing weapon upgrade opportunities; its unsatisfying weekly quests and rewards; and unfinished manufacturing. Recent reviews of games on Steam are mostly negativewith overall reviews being mixed.
