Washington considers sending Hawk missile systems to Ukraine


The US Department of Defense and the Biden administration are considering sending Hawk medium-range surface-to-air missile systems to Ukraine.

The story was first reported by Reuters, citing two US officials as saying that Washington was considering sending older Hawks from storage to Ukraine to defend against Russian missiles and Shahed drones. -136 kamikazes supplied by Iran.

The Hawk donated by Spain to Ukraine is the MIM-23B version with a minimum range of 1.5 km, a maximum range of 35 km, a minimum combat altitude of 60 meters, a maximum combat altitude of 18,000 m and a head 75 kg HE explosive/fragment ammo.
