Wild Diablo IV bug spawns large numbers of boss enemies
watch, Diablo IV adventurers, for the dark whispers speak of a terrible monster of great power that can spawn countless clones and completely drive you crazy. That’s not a lie! I’ve seen it happen to many people, and not all of them return to tell the story.
Diablo IVits launch went quite smoothly and smoothly, which in 2023 is truly impressive and remarkable. But there is no game, especially not a new and massive game like Diablo IV, can launch in perfect state. So of course there are some bugs and other issues in Blizzard’s latest action RPG. And perhaps the funniest thing involves an nemesis named Darcel, who can — and often does — spawn dozens and dozens of offspring on their own.
IN Diablo IV there’s a pretty simple, not-so-interesting side quest called “Stolen Artifacts” in the Scosglen region. The short side quest requires you to hunt down a big bad guy, kill him, get his rune charm and bring it back to someone. This is your bogus standard videogame fetch task, of the kind that you’ve probably done variations on more times than you can remember at this point. However, there is currently a bug with “Stolen Artifice” that results in duplicates of the quest boss—Darcel— appearing almost endlessly, causing many problems.
On Reddit And YouTube, player To be share the clip of Darcel giving birth 20 or multiple versions of yourself in seconds. These Replication are both as powerful and deadly as the original, and can quickly—like a swarm of ferocious locusts—overwhelm even the strongest of players.
“I went to kill Darcel and there were about 200 of him standing there, right?” posted a user on Blizzard official Diablo Forum. Another player posted a clip of the above incident Diablo annexadded that they “didn’t expect” Diablo IV [to be] this is hard” and that it was “too many Darcels for me.”
Kotaku contacted Blizzard about this bug.
Some players are reporting that Darcel will spawn forever, causing crashes or not being able to complete missions. Some people were lucky enough to defeat Darcel, the endless monster, by killing the original Darcel before he could spawn too many copies of himself.
While this bug is pretty funny to watch, I can imagine someone playing a character on hardcore (which only has one chance to live and disappears forever after death) finding the quest corrupted. this error and screamed in horror when they realized. belatedly, that they are about to be destroyed by an army of clones of the Darcels. RIP for those poor souls.
