Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has officially announced their latest ARPG titled Zenless Zone Zeroa brand new urban fantasy HoYoverse IP set in a world where contemporary civilization has been destroyed by a supernatural catastrophe known as the Hollows.
Players in the game will take the role of a Proxy, a special expert who guides people to explore Hollow. Players are tasked with helping them discover Hollows, battle enemies and achieve their goals. In the process, they will come to learn more about their story and their place in it.
“We want to invite players to explore [New Eridu]Last shelter for urban civilization due to natural disaster [Hollows]. Together with a special group of partners, they will battle together and unravel the mysteries of this post-apocalyptic world,” HoYoverse said in a press release.
In New Eridu, a post-apocalyptic metropolitan city, players will embark on adventures with diverse characters and action-oriented combat experiences.
Along with the title release, HoYoverse also released intro video, which features a look at the game’s characters, “3D and futuristic anime-style art,” and the world. Featured in the trailer are the game’s main characters, Unagi, Billy, Anbi, and NosTradamus, along with a closer look at New Eridu and the monsters that wreak havoc on it.
It features a mix of gameplay, cutscenes, and what appears to be some sort of arena-based battle system where players fight against Ethereal in pre-set battle stages rather than in an open world.
Each character is equipped with their own unique set of weapons and abilities, such as NosTradamus’ portable pistol, Billy’s dual pistol, and Unagi’s sword, all of which will provide players with unique abilities. Unique gameplay opportunities tailored to your favorite combat preferences – be it blasting away from a safe distance or getting up close and personal.
“Besides an engaging storyline, this 3D anime title also features a flexible, cinematic combat system. While fighting Ethereal, the player can control different characters to unleash unlimited QTE combos and electric skills. The game has also developed a Roguelike gameplay mechanic that is waiting to be discovered,” said HoYoverse.
While a release date has yet to be announced, registration for the game’s closed beta is available, and although the beta’s start date and schedule will be revealed later, you can already sign up on the site. Official game website.
HoYoverse is the developer behind games like The Genshin effectHonkai: Star Rail, Impact 3, and Tears of Themis, as well as the virtual character Lumi, N0va Desktop App, anime, manga, light novels, and music.
