1/ST And France Galop Collaborate On Gallorette And Romanet
1/ST and France Galop have joined forces with the aim of increasing international participation, the two companies announced on Wednesday.
The new partnership will kick off with the $100,000 GIII Gallorette S. at Pimlico Race Course on May 18, Preakness Day. Any horse that wins Gallorette, will automatically qualify for the €250,000 G1 Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet S. at Deauville on August 18. A travel allowance will also be provided.
1/ST has previously collaborated with Ascot Racecourse on Gulfstream Park's Royal Palm Series aimed at Royal Ascot's juvenile races, as well as with Horse racing club in England around the July Cup G1 and G1 Eclipse S. and California Crown at Santa Anita Park in September.

This Gallorette-Romanet route is an interesting experiment in hopefully more reciprocal racing days in France, considering France Galop's rich legacy of hosting many of the most prestigious turf competitions in Europe at courses such as Deauville, Chantilly and Longchamp.
