Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to present the Belmont, Inc. (BCCA) $10,000 for educational use.
BCCA’s mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and inspirational learning environment for the children of working parents in the Thoroughbred racing district located at historic Belmont Park, the Aqueduct Racecourse and New York’s Saratoga Racecourse.
BCCA received funds from TERF in 2019, 2020 and 2021, which were used to fund their early childhood education program.
In keeping with its mission to support and promote equine education by supporting organizations that are educating the public on how to properly care for horses, TERF will continue to provide their financial support into 2022. BCCA will use funding for their early childhood education program, which includes a STEAM-based Curriculum (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) to prepare students for elementary school learn while having fun and develop physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively.
CEO Joanne K. Adams commented: “Change the first 5 years of a child’s life and you will change everything! BCCA’s slogan and a familiar phrase we are all used to seeing! in public advertisements for local childcare centers and private schools”. . “What makes BCCA unique is that we are changing lives at the racecourse every day. For the past 20 years we have provided a state-of-the-art childcare center, Anna House, in Belmont Park, open. is open 365 days a year and offers STEAM-based curriculum to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Last year we opened the House of Faith at Saratoga Racecourse which has fulfilled their dreams. I’m offering a year-round program at Belmont Park and a summer program in Saratoga.”
“Each year, we see our budget grow as a result of the expansion of our programs and the increasing need to provide scholarships to our children, with an average cost of $1300/month for High cost of childcare is frequently reported and BCCA is affected by this with an annual budget of more than $1.5 million to operate two childcare centres. I realize that you really can’t pay the price of giving your child a great start in life and we are grateful to TERF for their incredible generosity and continued support for our mission. we.”
